Office of Research Services
The Office of Research Services (ORS) provides mission-critical services and
infrastructural elements to the UGA research community. Our goals support a
high-quality research environment typical of a first-class research university.
Specifically, they include:
Assure access to state-of-the-art, high-quality analytical
instrumentation, office automation equipment, chemicals, laboratory
apparatus, and expendable laboratory supplies;
Provide logistical support and information systems in compliance
with federal, state and UGA regulations to track chemicals from
initial ordering to their final disposal;
Enhance the research environment with professional technical
expertise, cost-competitive services and materials in a quick,
convenient manner; and
Build and maintain a user-friendly infrastructure for the ordering
and delivery of products and services to the UGA research community
CRS
is a large warehousing and issuing facility that stocks research and
teaching supplies and equipment and is the sole procurement source
for all chemical purchases on the Athens campus.
Chemical
Analysis Facility offers state-of-the art analytical techniques and
support services, including analysis of metals, elements, nutrients,
organic carbon, and cations in a wide variety of samples.
IBL
provides a range of laboratory services for genetics and proteomics
research through three sister facilities: Functional Genomics Instrumentation
Facility, the Proteomics Resource Facility, and the Sequencing and
Synthesis Facility.
The
Research Computing Center (RCC) provides high performance computing
hardware and network infrastructure, as well as consulting and training
services in pursuit of its mission.
Research
Media is an on-campus source for a variety of visual services, including
graphic design and illustration, presentation assistance, and digital
photography.
The
Survey Research Center at the University of Georgia exists to serve
the research, teaching, and service needs of the University and of
the larger community.
Telecommmunications,
Electronics, and Computer (TEC) Services provides prompt, professional
telecommunications cabling installation, electronics equipment maintenance,
and computer and related peripherals repair.
